Lansdowne Exhibits at SecureTech

Lansdowne will be participating as an exhibitor at SecureTech 2011, which is a two day public safety and security omnibus Conference and Exhibit, organized by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) to be held on October 25-26, 2011 at the new Ottawa Convention Centre.

Lansdowne Client Announces Results of Groundbreaking Study

One of Lansdowne’s clients, the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), recently announced the results of a Groundbreaking Cargo Crime in Canada Study. The study was conducted by a team of security experts from Lansdowne and involved extensive consultations with key stakeholders from the trucking, law enforcement and the insurance sectors from across the country.

Lansdowne wins Competition for Durham Next Generation Common Communications Platform (NextGen) Project

In February 2011, Lansdowne Technologies was successful in a competitive bid to the Regional Municipality of Durham for a four-year contract to perform the role of Project Leader for the Next Generation Common Communications Platform (NextGen) Project. 
This project aims to identify, acquire and deploy a common radio communications platform to support interoperability at municipal, regional, provincial, and federal levels for public safety stakeholders including the Durham Regional Police Service; the eight fire services from Oshawa, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Clarington, Brock, Scugog, and Uxbridge; and the security and emergency response services of the Ontario Power Corporation.  The system will be scalable to provide future growth capacity for public service providers such as transit, public health, and public works.  For this project, Lansdowne is developing a Regional Communications Interoperability Plan and supporting Standard Operating Procedures as well as the project management plans and solicitation documents to acquire the new system and accompanying user gear for the stakeholders by 2014.

Lansdowne hires Fred Maurette as new Senior Consultant!

Welcome to Fred Maurette!  Fred is joining us from his term with the Afghanistan Task Force and as a member of the public service.  He will take the position of Senior Consultant/Project Manager at Lansdowne where he will work with both private sector and government organizations focusing on security risk management, critical infrastructure protection, and emergency management.  His broad experience in security-related endeavors in public service postings make him an excellent asset for the security-related business lines of Lansdowne.

New Partner at Lansdowne - Peter Avis

The entire staff at Lansdowne Technologies Inc. welcomes Peter Avis as a new partner in the company as of 01 January, 2011.

Lansdowne Welcomes New Employee - Todd Moxley

Lansdowne welcomes the arrival of Todd Moxley to its consulting team as a senior consultant in the National Security and Emergency Management Business Practice line.  Todd is an emergency management expert who brings 35 years of military, federal government, and corporate experience to the Lansdowne roster.  He recently completed his Master of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management and will initially focus on training and exercising of emergency management in government departments.  Welcome Todd!

Lansdowne Welcomes New Employee - Rick Houseman

In a recent expansion of Lansdowne’s employee roster, Richard Houseman has joined us after a fine career as a naval engineer in the Canadian Navy. 
Richard has 35 years of public service with the Canadian Forces with extensive experience in the fields of project, engineering, procurement, and program and business management. He has been the project manager for several defence major capital acquisition projects including, most recently, the Joint Support Ship (JSS) project to replace the Canadian Navy’s tankers. He also has experience with emergency management in the fields of critical infrastructure risk assessments, contingency and business continuity planning.  Lansdowne welcomes Richard and looks for great things in the Project Management Business Practice.

Lansdowne Employee Golf Tournament - 2010

The Lansdowne family assembled on 29 July at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course for the 2010 Annual Golf Tournament.  It was a windy, but sunny, afternoon and most of the gang was able to be there to compete for the highly sought-after Lansdowne Employee Golf Team Champion Trophy.  The competition was rough with five mixed teams vying for the honours.  After the best ball was chosen throughout all 18 holes, the big winner was Team #3 — Michael Faulkner, Diane MacInnes, and Gerry Lanigan.  Their names will take a prestigious position on the trophy and each member will enjoy the prizes that were presented.

LANSDOWNE TECHNOLOGIES INC AND NEK ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES GROUP FORM LICENSING AND JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT - OTTAWA, Ontario, April 26, 2010

Lansdowne Technologies Inc. (Lansdowne), announced today that it had recently finalized an agreement with NEK Advanced Securities Group, Inc. (NEK) to provide Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) training courses in the United States. Lansdowne operates the Critical Infrastructure Institute (CII) Canada and is the exclusive training provider for CIP courses in Canada. The CII CIP training syllabus that NEK will offer in the US market offers a strategic perspective to CIP in order to provide a complete coverage of the CIP specialty.

Lansdowne Awarded Contract by Transport Canada

Lansdowne is pleased to announce that our Security and Emergency Management Business Line team was recently selected by Transport Canada for the Analysis and Compilation of Federal Instruments Impacting on Maritime Commerce Resumption (MCR) Project.  The Lansdowne team led by Peter Avis will compile a full inventory of Federal Instruments impacting on MCR, assess their relevance and placement in the Emergency Management continuum, validate with involved departments, and make findings and recommendations with respect to improved MCR in the Marine and Port Security context.
